This gourd art took about 45 hours. Painting fur still has a learning curve for me. It has a lot of Native American design in the graphics as you will see from the other pictures of the other sides of this gourd. The back side carving is called the ”Infinity Weave”. If you look closely on the side view it appears to be in 3D but it’s an illusion. It was fun to do but a lot of detail went into it as you can see from the other pictures.
This gourd art is a painting of a Jaguar with a carving all the way around the sides and the back called the "Infinity Weave". I call this project "Jaguar on the Prowl". This art is done on a 10 inch canteen gourd which is 5/8”+ thick. The jaguar was painted with Pastel Pencils. This is the first time I have used this medium. Very surprised how easy it was. Learned about some things I would do different and improve on.
My Latest Gourd art is a painting of a Jaguar with a carving all around the gourd. This was a new type of weaving with grass woven through the holes. This art is done on a 10 inch gourd which is 3/8” thick. The jaguar was painted with Pastel Pencils. This is the second time I have used this medium.
